Situated in the heart of the renowned Yarra Valley, Mt Rael is positioned high on 11 extraordinary acres offering unprecedented 180º valley views. Our intimate, relaxed restaurant offers modern food sourced largely from local produce, an astute and comprehensive wine list and a team of warm and experienced staff.

The simple philosophy of our passionate team of chefs is to be produce driven with creative and yet at the same time, comforting food. Chef John Knoll extends the culinary boundaries, creating dishes inspired by classic food styles enhanced by new flavours and combinations and each dish is a measure of his love of cooking.

Only 1 hour from Melbourne and Melbourne Airport, Mt Rael Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Thursday to Sunday.

Book a table on Saturday and Sunday for one our yummy brunches on the balcony overlooking the stunning valley, chat to our resident Kookaburra “Kookie” and enjoy our house made organic bread & preserves, local free range Eggs Benedict with freshly squeezed juice or even a glass of Yarra Valley bubbles! Come along and turn those everyday Saturday and Sunday mornings into something special

Our lounge area is another relaxed dimension to the Restaurant where we encourage you to come up to admire the views over a glass of wine and something light from our Grazing Menu.

Back by popular demand their $40 Lunch Special which is available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 12 noon to 3pm. The menu changes weekly and offers a choice of two courses and a glass of Yarra Valley white or red wine. Call us to make a booking and ensure you have one of the prized balcony or window tables.

2012 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival “Express Lunch” is on again 2nd to 21st March – we open for lunch 7 days during this period. Places are limited so bookings are essential.
