The simple philosophy of our passionate team of chefs is to be produce driven with creative and yet at the same time, comforting food. Chef John Knoll extends the culinary boundaries, creating dishes inspired by classic food styles enhanced by new flavours and combinations and each dish is a measure of his love of cooking.
Only 1 hour from Melbourne and Melbourne Airport, Mt Rael Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Thursday to Sunday.
Book a table on Saturday and Sunday for one our yummy brunches on the balcony overlooking the stunning valley, chat to our resident Kookaburra’s “Kookie” and “Stevie” and enjoy our house made organic bread & preserves, local free range Eggs Benedict with freshly squeezed juice or even a glass of Yarra Valley bubbles! Come along and turn those everyday Saturday and Sunday mornings into something special.
Our lounge area is another relaxed dimension to the Restaurant where we encourage you to come up to admire the views over a glass of wine and something light from our Lounge Menu.
We are delighted to advise that everyone’s favourite $40 Express Lunch Special is back each Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 12 noon to 3pm. The menu changes weekly and offers a choice of two courses and a glass of Yarra Valley white or red wine. Call us to make a booking and ensure you have one of the prized balcony or window tables.

Set to build on the Yarra Valley’s reputation as one of the fastest growing art regions in Australia. Situated in the hustle and bustle of Healesville Main Street in an underground basement setting – this space is the perfect foil for art and as a backdrop for art and exciting events. With an industrial raw and edgy feel HCAS is aiming to become one of Victoria’s exciting up and coming galleries and venues. The gallery is devoted to exhibiting emerging and mid‐career artists from Australia with a smattering of international artisans.
HCAS Galley Retail Store features creative and artistic items for sale. The purpose of the shop is to complement the gallery exhibitions and permanent collection, and aims to foster Australian and international professional artist’s designers and crafts people. Items will be consistent with our industrial design ascetic. We are hoping to offer a hip and eco line to balance our food partner Palate which is embracing fresh, modern cuisine in a communal wine bar environment.
